The oldest of these, from Airfix kits, date from the ’70s. When I was 10, 11 and 12 years old, my friends and I had “wars” with our model collections. It gave a structure and a purpose to our collecting. Ever since then, I still think of my “army” and how to keep it balanced and powerful when I buy or build a model — even though I don’t play war games with others any more. (I probably wish I did.) This set does not cover every Soviet model I have, but it does include several from a winter scene with 1/72 ESCI (Italeri) Ski Troops.
Great models and I can relate to the days when we used to have wargames
