My summer of Airfix aircraft and airbases continues with this set of photos taken using the two Spits, the airfield control tower, a Quonset hut by Rix Models, and diorama bases I made with plywood, Modge Podge, fine scenery grass and a mixture of several types of paint, washes and ballpoint pen for the concrete squares. I am making some valuable mistakes as I go along with these dioramas, and I am contemplating a bigger, better airbase incorporating what I have learned. I took these photos in lovely, end-of-a-summer’s-day light.
