My hobby pattern of late has been to have one model and one set of figures going at the same time. Whenever the model has to dry or set for a bit, I can add to the figures! Here we have a dozen German infantrymen in winter camouflage. I have opted for the full white dress. I dry-brushed most of the helmets to make it appear more like whitewash rather than a neatly applied coat of white paint. I used a dirty wash at the end, in order to bring out the details in the garments, but it may have gone too far. They look really pretty dirty! White is a challenging color for me to apply a wash to in just the right balance — but I know that unsullied bright white wouldn’t be right either. What do I do with these? Well, they’re available for dioramas, and one day if I get enough painted, they can be for gaming, too. But for now they’ll go in the box for winter stock!
