Our fascination with the Desert War continues here with a couple of different brands of this iconic British artillery piece. Once again, I found the Plastic Soldier Company’s 25-pdr box to be a great kit, with two well-molded guns, their tractors, and their crews, provided in both desert uniforms and in standard khaki uniforms. I also did the Italeri/ESCI 25-pdr again (after a 40-year hiatus…). The ESCI model has much more detail and looks good, I thought, but for the purposes of the collection I’m curating with my 9-year-old son — and for the purposes of the kind of photographs I like to take, to be honest — the lesser detail of the PSC model is just fine.
